About the opportunity –
Join our building and facilities team as a Building Maintenance Officer and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the safety, accessibility, and sustainability of our diverse facilities. This is a great opportunity to step into a role with local council while making a meaningful difference in our community.
You will make an impact by
- Assisting with compliance management and reporting on the facilities maintenance contract to achieve Council’s objectives.
- Delivering reactive and routine maintenance for Council’s buildings, ensuring compliance with the Buildings and Facilities Maintenance Policy.
- Supporting minor asset renewal projects, ESM and asbestos management.
- Monitoring and documenting contractor performance, focusing on Occupational Health and Safety and risk management.
- Proactively identifying, assessing, and managing risks to ensure regulatory and legislative requirements are met.
- A qualification and/or relevant experience in either facility management, asset management, construction management or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in the coordination and facilitation of building maintenance contracts and the associated works.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of regulatory and legislative requirements and general understanding of environmentally sustainable building design and operation.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, initiate, and build productive relationships both internally and externally.
- Experience with relevant computer programs such as Microsoft Office, GIS systems, records management systems, financial management systems and asset management related programs.
