You will make an impact by
- Leading and mentoring a team of 6 planners to deliver high-quality planning outcomes.
- Driving continuous improvement in systems, processes, and customer service.
- Providing expert planning advice to Council, senior management, and stakeholders.
- Championing collaboration across departments to streamline workflows and enhance service delivery.
- Representing Council at VCAT and guiding others through complex statutory planning matters.
What you will bring
- A tertiary qualification in Town/Urban Planning or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience and a proven track record in statutory planning.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire a diverse team.
- Deep knowledge of planning legislation, processes, and the political context.
- Experience in implementing business improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry changes.
