About the Opportunity
Step into a pivotal role as a Deputy Municipal Building Surveyor and play a key part in shaping the future of our community. This is a unique chance to influence the effective management and protection of land within the Shire. Your expertise will be crucial in administering and enforcing building regulations, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
You will make an impact
- Lead and Inspire: Provide leadership and supervision to our technical building team.
- Expert Guidance: Offer your technical expertise to support and guide the team.
- Efficient Management: Distribute and monitor staff workload to ensure timely project completion.
- Strategic Development: Contribute to the development of corporate plans and foster team growth.
- Mentorship: Mentor and coach team members on building legislation and best practices.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated experience in functions and obligations of Deputy Municipal Building Surveyor
- Registered as a building practitioner in the category of not less than ‘Building Surveyor Unlimited’.
- Proven ability and experience of supervising and leading a team
- Broad experience and knowledge of the Building Act and associated legislation, policies, and regulations
- Ability to work autonomously and organise own workload to achieve set objectives.
- Well-developed dispute resolution/mediation skills.
