In this Finance Business Partner role, you will work closely with key stakeholders across Council’s capital planning and delivery teams, providing critical financial analysis, reporting and strategic insights to drive excellence and accountability. Your expertise will be essential in developing Council’s capital works budget, quarterly forecasts and providing high level financial analysis to inform good decision making.
The position is ideal for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in FP&A and business partnering, seeking to influence and collaborate in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
Budgeting and forecasting: Lead the preparation and management of capital budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision making and resource allocation. This includes developing and upskilling of the financial acumen of key stakeholders.
Business partnering: Work closely with capital planning and delivery teams to communicate financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable insights and contribute to strategic discussions.
Reporting and analysis: Delivery of high quality commentary and analysis for regular reporting cycles, including monthly and quarterly financial updates, demonstrating a proactive forward-looking view. This includes ensuring funding acquittals are completed accurately and on time, in collaboration with project sponsors.
Financial modelling: Take ownership of developing financial and funding models, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, for all capital projects which supports well informed decisions.
