INDEPENDENT CHAIRPERSON CEO EMPLOYMENT MATTERS COMMITTEE
Cardinia Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified individuals for appointment as an Independent Chairperson of Council’s CEO Employment Matters Committee. The Committee provides independent advice and support to Council in relation to matters concerning the employment, performance, remuneration and contract arrangements of the Chief Executive Officer.
Applicants should demonstrate senior-level experience in executive employment matters, governance, human resources, remuneration, performance management and public sector administration. Experience working with councils, boards or committees, and an understanding of the legislative and governance environment within Victorian Local Government, will be highly regarded.
The independent chairperson will support the Committee to operate effectively, provide impartial guidance, facilitate constructive discussion, and assist Council to meet its obligations in relation to CEO employment matters. The successful applicant will have strong meeting facilitation skills, sound judgement, integrity, and the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
The appointment will be for a period of two years with the option of a further two one-year term extensions by mutual consent. The Committee shall meet at least twice a year, with authority to convene additional meetings, as circumstances require.
