About the opportunity 

Join our team at Cardinia Shire and play a crucial role in managing and protecting our beautiful landscapes and open spaces. You'll ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure outcomes and support our playground inspection program. 

You will make an impact by 

• Regularly inspecting parks and open spaces to ensure they meet contract standards. 
• Providing advice on the maintenance and construction of sports fields, parks, and landscaped areas. 
• Supporting the planning and delivery of work plans to maintain sports fields in top condition. 
• Responding to public queries about landscaped areas and sports fields. 
• Supporting the Township Maintenance team with playground inspections and reporting maintenance needs. 

What you will bring 

• Experience inspecting parks and open spaces to make sure they meet the standards specified in various Open Space Services Contracts. 
• Ability to analyse, interpret, and provide advice on the natural and built environment. 
• Skills in identifying playground faults and facilitating repairs. 
• Post-secondary qualifications in horticulture, arboriculture, or a related field. 
• Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or similar is desirable. 
• Proficiency in using computers and mobile technology, with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office. 
• A valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
