About the opportunity
Join our Operations teams as a Playground Inspection Officer and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our community's play spaces. This is a new position, offering a fantastic opportunity to grow with the council.
You will make an impact by
- Conducting regular inspections of playground equipment and surrounding areas to identify hazards and recommend repairs or replacements.
- Monitoring, assessing, and remediating the condition and compliance of attenuated surfaces.
- Delivering detailed playspace assessments and structured maintenance programs.
- Ensuring all prescribed work is completed to a high standard, within time and budget constraints.
- Communicating inspection findings and recommended actions to internal and external stakeholders
- Initiating and completing playground repair and replacement tasks when issues are identified or making areas safe until works are programmed
What you will bring
- Knowledge of Australian Playground Safety Standards and best maintenance practices.
- Experience in conducting Level 1 Visual inspections and Level 2 Operational inspections.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders about playground safety.
- Ability to identify risks and technical problems and promptly resolve them.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements, including conducting quality playspace and activity hub inspection
