Work with our team to make sure our roads are safe and our drains work efficientlyEnjoy variety and flexibility working across different areas, dependent on operational requirementsEntry level role with annual salary commencing at $62,666.61 (+ super)About the roleWork outdoors and be part of a team that makes a positive and tangible impact in the local community.If you have interest in working with asphalt, street signs, drains and if the idea of operating skid steers, excavators, tip trucks, backhoes and other equipment excites you, we’d love to hear from you.Join our Operations crew as a Civil Maintenance Officer and maintain our community’s infrastructure in order to provide an effective road network, drainage system, clean streets and a safe travelling environment.Key responsibilities include:Performing a wide range of manual maintenance and construction tasks, usually within the road reserve to upkeep the drainage system and road network.Operating (subject to relevant qualifications) skid steers, excavators, tip trucks, backhoes, graders, Flocons, compaction equipment, and street sweeper trucks.Hours of work will generally be during weekdays between 7:15am and 4:15pm, with a Rostered Day Off every fortnight.About youTo be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate that you:Have a Victorian Driver Licence with at least a Medium Rigid category and are committed to upgrading it to a Heavy Rigid category when eligible.Can use electronic devices, such as handheld tablets to follow work schedules and to send and receive messages.Are interested in operating and performing basic maintenance to plant equipment.Can learn quickly, manage change, and communicate effectively.Are willing to undertake a National Police Check, pre-employment medical examinations, and obtain a valid (employee) Working with Children Check in Victoria.About us Cardinia Shire Council is a dynamic and progressive organisation.
