Working together, doing things differently and preparing for the future are the three cornerstones of our culture, helping Council to deliver on strategy.  About the role  Work outdoors and be part of a team that makes a positive and tangible impact in the local community. Join the Operations business unit as a Civil Maintenance Officers and maintain Council’s infrastructure in order to provide an effective road network, drainage system, clean streets and a safe travelling environment for all road users. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing a wide range of manual maintenance and construction tasks, usually within the road reserve to upkeep the drainage system and road network. In this position you will be able to efficiently operate a heavy combination truck and have the ability to operate other plant and equipment (e.g. grader, skid steer, excavator, street sweeper truck). Hours of work will generally be a 9 day fortnight 7.15am – 4.15pm with a 30-minute lunch break, the RDO to be taken at a rostered time each fortnight and the regular day before RDO will be 7.15am –3.45pm.
