You will lead and proactively support a team of 9 to provide Council with efficient financial accounting and reporting services, revenue and rates administration processes to ensure the effective management of Council cashflow, tax, asset accounting and rates and debtor collection.Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, some of your duties will include:Work collaboratively with finance and all managers across Council to build trusted relationships in ensuring financial, asset management and rating services meet the business needs and opportunities to improve are realised.Develop, review and maintain finance policy and procedures and oversee effective communication including internet and intranet content development.Coordinate and deliver statutory accounting reports to meet regulatory requirements of accounting, government and taxation legislation and standards, including active contribution to the annual reporting process and financial advice to key stakeholders.Coordinate the financial audit processes including provision of information requirements, response to audit questions, drafting management responses to audit recommendations, and delivering reports to senior leaders, Council and Audit and Risk Committee.About youYou will be an agile leader, who is accustomed to dealing with competing priorities and enjoy ensuring a team approach is undertaken in delivering projects. You will have a proven track record of leading a team culture that embraces engagement, innovation, and customer focused service delivery.
