Full TimeBand 6, starting 85k + superHybrid work model, work from home, Officer location   Contribute to the development of Cardinia through the review of landscape masterplans and detailed landscape design plansAbout the roleAs a Landscape Assessment Officer, you will help shape the streetscape and open space amenity of Cardinia Shire by reviewing and approving detailed landscape plans against Councils standards. You will assist in shaping all public landscape areas from streetscapes to open space and everything in between. Reporting to the Team Leader Development, you will be responsible for the assessment, approval and monitoring of landscape and associated works by developers. This will have an emphasis on new parkland developments and streetscape planting across Cardinia ShireAbout youTo hit the ground running you will have a strong background in street tree selection in the urban environment and experience in the review and implementation of park designs. You will understand Landscape Architecture and the relevant technology, procedures and processes used within landscaping, in the context of Council policies and the planning scheme. Your strong communication skills will allow you to respond confidently to all stakeholders and be clear around requirements.You will also require the followingA Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or Diploma in Landscape Design or equivalent and relevant experience that may include urban design, statutory planning, landscape estimation or other relevant disciplines.Demonstrated experience in the assessment, development and implementation of landscape master plans and detailed landscape design plans, including liaison with developers and professional consultants.Demonstrated understanding of the role of landscaping in relation to the planning permit assessment process and an ability to provide clear direction which achieves positive results.Ability to check and work with detailed landscape plans, ideally with greenfield development sites.Demonstrated ability to have an eye for fine detail in landscape plans as well as to see how this will fit into the larger context of the local and PSP areas.About usCardinia Shire Council is a dynamic and progressive organisation.
