You will be highly sort after to provide financial support and advice to both the Senior Leadership team and Managers.Reporting to the Team Leader- Financial Planning, Analysis and Systems, some of your duties will include:Plan, co-ordinate, prepare and distribute Council’s annual budget ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and ensuring statutory public notification is implemented.Finance and budget training sessions and workshops, including the development and delivery of training materialsPrepare monthly reporting timetable and communicate deadlines to relevant stakeholdersUndertake general accounting duties such as journal preparation, monthly accruals and reconciliations preparation and review as directed.Complete allocated sections of the LGPRF template each quarter and for year-end per the timetable distributed by Service Planning and Improvement.Monitor the capital works budget and address variances in income and expenditure through monthly meetings with the Project Managers of the Division(s) allocated to this position.Co-ordinate, communicate and prepare reporting to Victorian Grants Commission, Essential Services Commission and any other external bodies by due dates.This is an exciting opportunity for you to have an impact supporting a busy and highly engaged interface council within the Local Government sector.About youThis role would suit an experienced Accountant with demonstrable experience of being a hands-on forward-thinking management accountant.
