About the opportunity
Are you passionate about transforming open spaces into vibrant community hubs? Join our Active and Connected communities’ team as a Parks Placemaker and play a pivotal role in activating our passive reserves, fostering community connections, and promoting physical activity in the natural environment.
You will make an impact by
- Attracting and delivering engaging programs and events in our parks
- Enhancing the functionality of and community connection to open spaces
- Identifying trends and opportunities to maximise the use of open spaces
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and commercial operators
Leading community engagement and consultation for placemaking projects
What you will bring
- A tertiary qualification in open space, recreation, urban planning design, or community development, or demonstrated experience in these fields.
- Excellent skills in liaising and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, special interest groups, and the broader community.
- Strong ability to clearly articulate and present information to a range of audiences, with proven negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting and delivering activations and events, and managing large, complex public open spaces.
- Proven skills in managing projects within timelines and budgets, with an understanding of emerging trends to influence community and organisational outcomes.
- Understanding of reserve and landscape development needs and issues of both new and growing communities, as well as established rural communities.
- Innovation, ideas and a proven ability to achieve great outcomes with limited resources.
