Project Officer ($50-55 per hour + super – contract)Initial contract 6 months with possibility to extend Hybrid work modelGenerate and maintain The Minor Capital works Program to manage responsibility for the performance of the project teamAbout the role:This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer- Minor Capital Works to join our Building and Facilities team. You will be responsible for preparing contracts, planning, investigating and delivering Council’s Minor Capital Works Projects, Facilities Improvement and Capital Replacement works.Importantly, you will be undertaking this role within a supportive and collaborative team environment.Reporting to the Team Leader, Facilities Management and Maintenance your key responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:Identify, review and manage OH&S responsibilities and risks for the activities in The Program. Support all stakeholders to deliver the business and operational outputs required from The Program. Ensure the monitoring and documenting of contractor performance and financial payments are accurate, clear and recorded for financial and auditing purposes.Manage stakeholders by supporting the stakeholder engagement framework to work together to achieve the objectives of The minor capital works Program.Undertake project delivery inline the Cardinia Project Management Framework (PMF) ensuring compliance and deliver The Program following the Scope of Works, regulatory standards, and Council’s Enhanced StandardsAbout youYou will be an agile leader, who is accustomed to dealing with competing priorities and enjoy ensuring a team approach is undertaken in delivering projects. You will have developing experience in project and/or construction/facilities management, coordination of capital works building projects including infrastructure services from concept through to project closure within the allocated budget and in meeting required project outcomes. To be considered you will also require the following:Demonstrated ability in budget management, financial reporting, procurement and risk management.Demonstrated management of key stakeholders to achieve agreed building or infrastructure project outcomes.Demonstrated ability to build capability and ensure a team approach is undertaken in project delivery.Demonstrated experience in dealing with staff and contractors.Demonstrate an understanding of Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) and how these principles can be applied during the project design phase.About us:Cardinia Shire Council is a dynamic and progressive organisation.
