Maximum term – full time, January 2022 - Dec 2022Band 5 (salary $69,397.37 plus 10% super), with monthly ADOHybrid work modelHelp manage our sporting reserve facilitiesStart in the new year!About the role:This is a an exciting opportunity for a Recreation Liaison Officer to work with sport and recreation organisations and committees of management to provide quality sport and recreation facilities and programs to maximise use, increase participation and physical activity and to meet the needs of the diverse Cardinia community.Importantly, you will be undertaking this role within a supportive and collaborative team environment where your passion for achieving outcomes, business improvements and personal development is encouraged.Reporting to the Team Leader recreation your duties will include but not limited to the following;Work in partnership with Council and state government reserve committees of management to provide quality sporting facilities for tenant clubs and the general community with a focus on both structured and unstructured sport and recreationAssist and support reserve committees of management to develop and maintain sound governance and administrative proceduresRespond to community needs and requests from reserve and sport and recreation club committees in line with Council policies and budgets.Implement and monitor the Council’s Recreation Reserve Management and Usage Policy, Seasonal Tenancy Policy and facilitate school and casual bookings on Recreation Reserves.About youTo be successful you will have knowledge of the sport and recreation industry and the role of local government, and you will understand the intricacies and demand issues relating to a growing community. You will also have the following.A tertiary qualification in recreation, community development or a related discipline is highly regarded.Demonstrated ability to work with the community in the development of recreation projects and programs Demonstrated understanding of the management and maintenance requirements of outdoor sporting facilitiesDemonstrated experience in local government providing customer service to sport and recreation clubs/ organisations together with an appreciation of issues related to the relationship between the community and CouncilDemonstrated understanding of sports club/committee governance and administrative processesAbout us:Cardinia Shire Council is a dynamic and progressive organisation.
