Your responsibilities include engaging with the community and stakeholders to plan, implement, and evaluate social policies, strategies, and projects. You will stay up to date with the local government’s social policy and planning context, offering recommendations for future development. You will also lead the implementation and monitoring of Cardinia Shire’s Social and Affordable Housing Strategy, making a lasting impact on housing and homelessness issues. Not only that, but you will also facilitate partnerships with relevant agencies and maintain positive relationships across state government departments. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping policy by embedding social planning principles across Council and supporting advocacy on key social issues within the community.  About you The ideal candidate for this role will be able to utilise experience and qualifications in social and community planning, strategic planning, statutory planning, or public policy to develop, implement, monitor, and review key social policies, strategies, and projects, such as Cardinia Shire’s Social and Affordable Housing Strategy. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to facilitate collaboration and gain agreement of internal and external stakeholders. You will also meet the following criteria: Ability to research, analyse and identify social trends and community needs that impact Cardinia Shire residents, students, and workers. Ability to develop and review public policy and strategy based on sound evidence and consultation. Demonstrated experience in working with multiple stakeholders to plan and deliver initiatives that address social planning priorities.
