Full time opportunityBand 3, salary from $58,000 plus super (RDO every fortnight)Hours: 6.00am to 3.00pmAbout the roleAs the Township Maintenance Officer, you will ensure that Council’s image is enhanced and protected by performing all duties in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner. This role will maintain Council’s commercial retail and open space precincts with a focus on improving the amenity of these areas.Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Undertake all other general maintenance as required, including rubbish and litter removal, minor horticultural works and other general labouring work as requiredUndertake graffiti removal works across the Shire on a range of organisational assets as required and within the limits of skills and experienceUndertake a range of renewal and maintenance activities to Cardinia’s open space and township assets (including street furniture and playground equipment) as required and within the limits of skills and experienceOperate a range of mechanical equipment and plant associated with township maintenance works (including cleansing duties as required) within the licensed or competency range, specialising in cleansing operationsTo inform the Crew Leader Township maintenance of any issues likely to adversely affect the performance, image or public perception of the organisation or the image of the CouncilTo undertake playground "Routine Audit" on a scheduled basis that will identify safety issues and also provide information on playground condition, maintenance and replacement needs.About youTo be successful in this role you will have knowledge of and proficiency in applying the techniques and practices applicable to maintenance activities and associated works. You will be able to demonstrate:Experience in a similar roleUnderstanding of hazard identification and the Occupational Health & Safety requirements applicable and risks associated to specific tasks performedKnowledge and experience in the safe operation of plant equipmentAbility to follow work schedules utilising electronic devices such as handheld tabletsUnderstanding of customer service and the ability to respond to members of the Public in a responsible mannerAbility to Audit Playgrounds within the national playground assessment framework for "Routine Assessment Level 1"Proven ability to operate a range of trucks in an infrastructure maintenance environment, ability to operate footpath sweeper or equivalentYou will hold:Current Victorian Driver LicenceConstruction Induction Card.Traffic Control Ticket desirableAbout us Cardinia Shire Council is a dynamic and progressive organisation.
