6 months Maximum TermAssist and project manage the delivery of specific traffic or transport related projects. Band 5, salary from $69k (plus super)About the roleWe’re seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to deliver projects and services relation to traffic, transport and parking. In this role you will provide advice and recommendations on traffic, transport and parking issues effecting Cardinia.Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide assistance and advice to Council’s Senior Traffic Engineers and Team Leader of Traffic and Transport and other Council officers on issues within areas of responsibility.Assess and investigate customer/residents’ requests within Cardinia for traffic and other engineering related items.Assist in the achievement of policies, service levels and standards as specified.Undertake specialist engineering investigations and technical reports on road safety audits, accident investigations, transport planning, accident data, petitions, and traffic surveys annually.Assess planning proposals regarding traffic impact.Liaise with external agencies, including VicRoads and Public Transport Victoria.About youYou will ensure a high level of stakeholder and community consultation and engagement is undertaken along with promoting continuous improvement techniques in the development, design and delivery of projects.Civil Engineering Degree with related Traffic Engineering experience or qualification.Preferable experience in a similar engineering role with an emphasis on traffic engineering.Well-developed written, oral and presentation skills and proven ability to develop strong relationships with key people internally and externally.Demonstrated ability to show initiative and problem solving in an engineering environment.The ability to work with a level of autonomy and exercise sound engineering judgement.The ability to understand financial matters.Require a drivers licence to undertake on-site inspections.  About us Cardinia Shire Council is a dynamic and progressive organisation.
