Meet our people
At Cardinia Shire Council, we believe our people are the key to our success. The services we offer are incredibly broad, so it’s vital that our team is as diverse as the communities we serve. At Cardinia Shire Council, you’ll feel this every single day.
But don’t just take our word for it. Hear it from the people who matter most – our team!
Belinda (she/her)
From growing up in Berwick to training as a Nurse and Midwife, Belinda Rickard has built a rewarding career at Cardinia Shire Council. Now, as a Team Leader of Maternal and Child Health Services, she’s creating excellent opportunities for MCH nursing students, as well as improving the community around her.
Gagan (he/him)
Gagan Singh has been with Cardinia Shire Council since 2017 and has made remarkable contributions to improve our systems and processes. As our Chief Information Officer (CIO), Gagan brings over 20 years of IT expertise and a profound passion for technology. We talked to him about his time at Cardinia and how he’s working towards a brighter future for all.
Miranda (she/they)
Miranda Luck, our Youth Engagement Officer, has been making her mark on Youth Services at Cardinia Shire Council since 2013. She’s helped implement numerous in-school and after-school programs that support young people to navigate the most important years of their lives. We talked to Miranda about what matters most to her and why she’s so excited about the future.
Shamama (she/her)
Shamama Affrin knows what a difference it can make to feel valued and included at work. As a People and Culture Officer at Cardinia Shire Council, she feels proud to make everyone in our team feel like they truly matter. Shamama’s career journey has taken her to the other side of the world, but what has never changed, and never will, is her belief that people are the most important asset in every organisation.
Rob (he/him)
After a lifelong career working for local government, Rob Power didn’t want to stop serving his community when he retired from full-time work. So, he switched lanes to school crossings! As our School Crossing Supervisor, Rob loves the freedom the role gives him to take advantage of retirement while connecting with his new community and keeping schools safe.
Natalie (she/her)
Natalie Mayall has been with Cardinia Shire Council since 2013 and has grown a rewarding career while continually upskilling and expanding her knowledge. Since she first got a taste of the automotive industry through a school-based traineeship, she hasn’t looked back. We talked to her about the importance of her work and the impact it has on the services the council provides.
